Wyrd Ways Rock Show 2.01

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Hello friends!

Some of you are probably wondering why I changed the name of the show. Some of you are probably wondering why I changed the name back to the original. It's basically the same answer: It was something I felt like I needed to do.

It's been two years since I last used the name "The Wyrd Ways Rock Show", and part of the reason I've not really done much podcasting in the meantime is that it's not felt right for a while. The difference now is that it's starting to feel more right again. Hopefully it's not just another false start and I really am finally getting the old thrill back. Only time will tell. The bonus for you is that you get two hours of top quality Metal from around the world. You also get an old song being redone and the debut of a new feature: Russian Roulette, so named because (in the words of the listener who gave it the name), "You never know what you're going to get". Which is apt.

Anyway. I promised you two hours of quality Metal, so click the link and turn it up.

For surprise. You don't freak out, victim and listen to the weird ways rock show. Moment, lie on your fee on the sack. Mama, Fuck your mind as I sharpen the blood in your life. My father, can hello, welcome to the water of the weird ways rock show. Yeah, I know, I kind of promise, but up to be honest, of the last few weeks especially, I started to feel like I needed to resurrect it because it felt more right than the forge. It just it's something that set up, it's something that I've been running for over a decade and it just like, well, it felt a bit more comforting moment anything else. So, yeah, I thought I'd resurrected. Now I have resurrected also a couple of the old features. We we're going to see the return of...

...the covered and we're going to also see with a spot lightly be slightly different form and another one, another new feature. Well, any feature by the name of Russian Roulette, because, as are liking on twitter, who actually got to name feature said, you never know what you're gonna get. And what I'm going to do it is. I am not going to announce it. I'm going to play a well, a theme tune and then just going to launch it for music and then back announcer. and talking about announcing, he said in an incredibly smooth segue, that was the sense of death. Who are a Canadian based band with two base players. One of them plays. Kind of leave it you like Lemmy, did he motorhead? So the banks. He's like the leadings for robby. Just obsession. Yeah, that's what they do with that interesting sound one it tell you. Well, send me, Walter. All that's up. Some more music. This is rubble pois with sleeping like a M May I say? I say threes sleep. I can't tonight for his life. Hello, are you listening to the Weird...

...ways rock show? My name is Rishy, from bubble and fire and joy. Remember the days we spend. So tell her again and again. There's nothing left to say. So I tell her again and again. Forever us. My face dust got while I face. Don't need for Res Non Times. So tell her again and again. There's nothing left with you. Tell her again and again. I'll never forgets. No crowners. Turns out that rebel priest are another Canadian band and they have just released an album on band camp. Called rule. Yeah, heavy as in the rule yea, the Fulo chant thing and rather good from Vancouver. Gotcha come out. And that was followed by the new song from La guns called renegades and something. I've got a wonder really. You've heard it and you've probably noticed that the vocalist isn't Phil Lewis Anymore and the guitar player isn't Tracy guns anymore. So well,...

...we got asks. Is it really still la guns? Interesting question in it. Let's have some, Mam ran. Now I want to play viral because I prefer it to the court singles. So why do I have to wit your October for the new album, come out the deception im that's going under like last ill, the Joan six. Someone turn in the direction. Well, you P to apart from exception, you know where. Let us stand around. Then you see it's the town with a start. Hi, this is at least from emer and you're listening to the weird ways rock show is nothing. I'm around with their previous single, viral, because I think...

...it's a better song than I think it's strong. That's the new current single. But yeah, like I said, I prefer viral, and that was followed by the unguided with then you single frown Prince Syndrome. So look up for their albums. That's going to becoming series. Why do I have to wait till October for the new Amaranthal Mate? Why don't want to want it now? Talking to wanting things now in a very lumpy segue this time I think we need to return to one of our returning features as it returns in this returning weird ways rock show. Right, okay, this is covered now, then covered. If you remember, from back in the olders of the weird ways rock show, what we used to do with this one is play an old song that has been read one and in this case the original version of this song, because this is how I always used to introduce me, if you remember. was recorded in nineteen seventy seven, actually probably recorded by nineteen seventy six, but released on an album of the same name in nineteen seventy seven by a bunch of reprobates from Australia, and that's probably Neil. It down to one of two bands now for you and it yeah, come on, it's gonna be the worst tattoo or a SEDC in it. If it's talking Australia, nineteen seventy seven. Now. This particular version of this song was recorded ten years later, in nineteen eighty seven, for inclusion on an album called in search of sanity, and it featured vocals from a chat by the name of Steve Grimmer. Oh, to be fair, has been having a bit of a bad time recently and you know, fingers crossed everything start, everything curd well, going, well, fier as two thousand and twenty can expect to be. So fingers cost for their Steve, because you know the mental health thing. It's quite prevalent in a lot of us,...

...me especially, but we will talk about that this time. But yeah, said of me blothering on. Let's have on slaught covering a C DACs. Let the brock the blso fresh they shall white man, no, I know what Never gonna there was light and look up there was a cross rocking bellowing up, famous the business man and a seven year n I never been a million thinger. Just Abel lucking goods would sign themself to the crowd. We...

...want to stop pracrazy quick grass. But I'm okay, but I'm Denny's from gentrics. You'll listen to note the weird ways, rock jure Glo. Now...

...to the frosty cross feels. Are The guy bodies as guests can be good. That's it's a ted of Nabout it. I'm in some bed. Your boys, your body side. Does he has a Chee saw? Yes, a seer gonna flush Internet. Oh the films, the size, infection stem,...

...the poison fruit. Still Dad's so stressed in wake, just to do a bit of back announcing, you just heard three new songs. One from first one was armored saint with end of the attention span. And I gotta admit the biggest mistake and thrax ever made was letting John Bush go and bringing back Joey Belladonna. I've said it before, I'll say it a again. John Bush sings rings around Joey Bellad done and it's also got, if I'm...

...absolutely straight about it, better on stage, charisma. I've Seen Anthrax Oh a lot of times and the shows I saw with John Bush were better than the ones I sold Joey Belladonna. And really, you know, that's it. I'm not still love anthrax. I will still buy all their albums, I'll still go and see him, but I preferred him when John Bush was singing. You know, after that you heard something from the new live album by destruction named nailed to the cross, and then another one of those bands from the original first blooming of thrash that are still going but didn't get as far as the big fall. So you know, you had the big focus, Metallica, anthrax slayer, Megadeth, and then you had other bands like testament and Exodus and heathen, which you just heard, and that's their new song, empire of the blind. I can't forget flats, someone Jetson as well, cus they're still good, they're still going. Now then, shall we do a written another returning feature. This one, my friends, is spotlight. Now, as I said, I'm going to do spotlight in a bit of a different way this time around. Just just start as at least what I'm going to do is, instead of spreading the songs through the show, I'm going to play him in a block, and the block starts pretty much instantly with three songs from a British thrash band. We've been around a while, ruled by the Iron Rod of actually thoughly decent chap because I've met him a couple of times and he was always and he was is a good block. Niger rocket. They are Bristol's very own, especially now since the borrowing a couple of members of bullif stampede on slaught, starting out with killing, peace, destination. Wants a silence night. Sun Trumps night, distracts the sky. Supper taking over a race of all. You're rather get a little das the heads. This is nice, rocket, and you're listening to...

...the weird ways rock show sex, sex FORGAN, says the new silo place one with the demon wave this walk with extreme aggressor and see race from the blood said day. Start down out on the crowd. Loves, sucks, sucks the floor and a baby action cousin warn off through the limbs on a screen egg side at Dan calling light and I walked up all my soul the loud sus, sus, sucks, sucks. We are. We are not...

...fast, we are we are jail. Time to break the ter face. Mobies on. Ready enough. That is not rusty parade. got a wife, gotta fight for my mother's play at guess world into the Lions Dead, classify the vilest. Try to let my sort of roses when fire frames, another dollar falls. The day I gotta fight for my brother's Sunday. I gotta fight on the other to fight Fu wee mess living life with no regrets. They get down taking lay so far W I gotta fight for my mother's...

...you just heard three songs from one slought there, who are this edition of the weird ways rock shows spotlight band? The songs you heard were killing peace, six, six fucking six. And from the new album which has just been released, you heard strike fast, strike hard, which features the singer and drummer from fellow Bristolians bullriff stampede. Now I really hope that doesn't mean bullrif stampede aren't the thing anymore, especially since Jay is also singing for Zen tricks, which means rod he's only playing bass for Bullrif stampede at the moment, and yet he hasn't got another band to be in, so it's probably feeling a little bit lonely. Anyway, Bulli of stampede, hopefully new album coming soon. We hope, I hope, please, Jay, guys, getting your album written, because I like thrash and I like bull riff stampede and I like bull riff stampede doing thrash. So getting your album written and get out and get to nick once this whole covid bollocks is gone away. I'll tell you what, let's have some more heavy metal. This is black face with save your machine, I wills when your lives falls apart. Back for last comes the reals. To make such a claim that the lords of...

...this world were the first two shadow I cannot dis crime. Don't be what you see and now out. Hey, this is joe from gambomb here and...

...you're listening to the weird ways rock show. Oh you know, I've got a feeling I'm playing a lot Canadian stuff this week because I can be saying this week. Well, I hope it will be this week because I'm hoping I'll built get my brains gether enough to do another show next week, but you never know, do you? But yeah, thanks. A lot of the more interesting stuff I've been getting over the past few weeks as been from John Asher, Asher meter over there in Canada, and there's a lot of Canadian bands that he tends to send across, obviously, and I'm pretty sure Helly and prime, who you heard after black fate, our Canadian and that songs called Forbidden Zone and I can't remember he sent me violea sin with wear my skin. But yeah, I mean those guys are a bit of a new discovery. Well, it's one of these things where I saw a press release, check them out on Youtube, which was embedded on the press release, and it's like wow, those guys are good, but the songs to bloody shot. One Minute thirty six. You call that a song? Jesus, come on, need more, write longer songs. I'm Gett a bit moany on. Tell you what, let's have some bull elephant. British band mudering a box of adgers. This one is from their new album and it's called cult of the Black Sun Nemesis, and this is really Rama Ace. Turn this one all the way up. Hi, this is Aaron from Paradise...

Love. See you're listening to weird words rock show, probably the best radio station outside of North Norfolka Lassois die face down following the mighty bull elephant.

You heard protocult, we feed you demons. And Yeah, they've got any album coming out, which is why I'm playing that song. And tell you what, let's keep the metal heavy and blacks on terrors o screening aside,...

...dying rain. There's no more. I did want. It was going to be heavy metal dinner. So you got black son with terror zone and then a bit of German traditional heavy metal from primal fear and track from their new album. Song was how old the Banshee. And I think it's time for a bit of Russian Roulette. Don't many words started away from every single tree. Something else. That's face. Feel we can, as I think that you made strong to look back glass, to stay back in the should you...

...don't squirrel. Mr Shots turns off my skither. I walk, Test, I push your dad. I'm already cut, because free can be what you...

...want me. Jauella Wa cryst in the ripple backs to the SCABS so I may get use of my days still. Why did I call this feature Russian...

Roulette? Well, as I said at the beginning of the show, Eric the Viking, as he's known on twitter, formally known as shorty himself, he named the feature because I put up a request on twitter saying I've got this idea for feature to for the resurrected weird ways rock show, and I want a name for it. I was originally God with dealers choice, but I well, I didn't really like the name. So I'll put the request out and one of my twitter chums, the aforementioned, he suggested Russian Roulette, and I kind of like the humor of it because it's yeah, you don't know what you're gonna get. and well, since he got to name it, he got to pick the first three tracks, which were the deaf tones with seven words, Pearl Jam with called a Roy and enter Shikari with the last garrison. So question is, who's next? That'll be you. What I want you to do it send me three tracks, three songs. No need to explain, just send me the songs and I'll play him. That's all you need to know really, other than you can get in touch with me on facebook somehow. Tell you what I'll put it. I'll put the contact details on the website, which is www dot weird ways are scom. And if you look me up on twitter under Weird Ways Rock, you will built a sort of DM me or leave me a tweet or someone like that. Now, then, what you could also do is you could be you could join my patreon, like Steph how it's done, and for the price of some light things, about three quid a month, some more like that. I'll three quid a show us. I can't remember offered up me head to be honest, but for very little money. Not only do you get the weird ways rock show, you'll also get the thrash hour, which is an occasional extra ill throwing and also there's going to be the power hour, which is something I'm going to throw in it's as can probably get power metal and you'll also have access, if you are an RPG player, to any scenarios are right now I'm currently after lockdown Gming for judge dread, so any scenarios that I write for that that aren't just adaptations of scenarios that been pollishing other places will be put up for your dilectation on the Patreon page. And of course we've me being the metal science teacher. If I do any more of those videos they'll be going up in there as well, and I it's all kinds of stuff and for a matter of a few quid a month to help me do this, pay for me hosting fees and all that sorced. I mean, if I cover me hosting fees, I'm happy. Okay, I'm not intending on trying to make a living out of this, because the hell would pay me a do they say? Anyway, okay, now right, I'm wasted. I'm burning date. Well, I would say I'm burning delight, but it's currently nearly half past midnight when I'm recording this. So let's have some more metal homicide. Point blank range. You think you're do what your don't. You say your will what you won't. You think...

...you're with what you won't. You think I lose, but I don't. Your diamonds cough, you rock the rock. You're not a field by rage. Your time has caught. Your rock the run. Your envoy blank range. Your time is caught, the damage is done. You're in a final stays. You have lost. I have one your avoy flask rage. You think I see what your don't. You think I care, but I won't. You think you're with what your don't. You think I lose, but I walk. You think you don't want your dog. Say you're well. Push Your Walt. You think you're where you walt. You'll think I lose, but I don't. You think you see what your dog you think I can't, but I want. You think you went, but your dog. You think I lose, but I won't. Your dimons cough, your rocks the rock. You're gotta feel my Ray, your dips job, your rock the rock. You're at point black rags. Your dip is cough. The damage is done. You're at the fight of day. You lost. I have one read point black rage. This is DJ pause. I am art, I am Scotty. We're in morgared and you're listening to the weird ways rock. Shown SA stuff about my friends. Is Your Lot for this edition...

...of the Weird Ways Rock shirt? Two point. Oh. So this is kind of weird ways rock. Shot to one and yeah, by now right, that did it. Okay, waffled a bit and probable fear. They are German. The new album is called metal commander and it's been out for about a month. So if I said anything, I can't remember I said. Actually, but yeah, how the Banche's on it and it's it's pretty good. Those tracks are just heard, by the way, before I forget, were homicide with point blank range and end asked with standby a get some because I like the sentiment of it and, to be honest, it's a good song. They've just got back together, by the way, and that is the first blush of their new stuff. So that's my not be looking up very shortly, I think. Now then, how shall we finish the resurrection of the Weird Ways Rock shirt? Well, really, there's only one way we can to be fair, and that is by using this particular track and dear hmm, this particular track which needs absolutely no introduction at all. So I'm not going to give it one. Good night and hopefully, if...

...all goes one, see you next week. A.
