ABOUT THIS EPISODE

What have we got for you in this week's Wyrd Ways Rock Show? Simple answer is loads of good quality Metal, starting with new stuff from Finntroll, Carcass and Machine Head. Not only that, but there's a Covered that you might find somewhat surprising and a Russian Roulette choice that you might not find at all surprising.

Generally, as usual, two hours of quality Hard Rock and Metal.

What more do you need?

For surprise you don't freak out. Victorio up from Hell and listen to the weird ways rock shows. Hello, welcome to weird ways rock show. As...

...you might have realized from that butts of control all back as a new album of God reddess faved, but this part, this bar Donna, but whatever it's called, it's you are to make in September. So get yourself down ith and V or Amazon, wherever it is you buy your music, and get that one bought, because you know, it's been a fair while since the last one and I'm looking forward to it. I'm like you, but I am now. Hopefully, when I play this particular leak back, when I am just doing a bit of error checking, I won't end up sounding like Papa smurf like I did last week's show. Yes, you know, it's been a while, so I could remember most of the second so I just kind of played with it and yeah, when I played it back I sounded like Papa SMURF. So things cross with this one. It won't be. And here's somebody who doesn't sound like Papa smurf. Ever for generation,...

...you are like say hello, this is your man back from Winter Sun. You'll listening to we are the ways rock show. Oh, good news.

Just listen to that one back and I didn't sound like Papa Smurf, which is good. So I'll carry on recording. And I forgot to tell you what that truck was called, dinner. That opening track by Fintrol was called Forsen, and the one you've just heard, well, the two you've just heard. Let's have it right to first one in that too was carcass, with the their loving rendition of the living dead at the Manchester Morgue, which is one of the tracks off their new EP. Yeah, you did that right. Carcass of got a new EP coming out. So if you look at a death metal that's what I get, really in it. And that was followed by affliction vector with voiceless prediction, which is nice. Talking about Nice. Let's let's have a bit bit of contrast, Shall We? Shall we have some classy Italian hard rock? Yeah, go on then, and then we'll follow it with something that I've got admit I find annoyingly catchy and it kind of grew on me after I played a couple of time, you know, a bit like a fungus. And Yeah, yeah, sunrise gasoline keep me straight on test. I'm not a keep I will keep inside. Makes me stronger, more right. Every time I wish to be ready. I want to make some man, I don't ask because I fred. Oh...

...my fields, a Wiki. Please don't waste my time. It's gonna Sprit it out, won't? Every time, my I can't say. I can't say ready. I Made Live. We are armies. You're on the weird ways rock show. This love, this this love is like as you don't stay like Kennedy. You now shakedown, shake, shake, trauma, SA...

...treason, as long time listeners of the weird way rock show will know, you know the ones from l two years ago and further back. That is the theme tune for covered now. What I do during this feature, for those of you are a bit newer, is I play a song that has been covered by another band. Simply nothing. Now this particular one, I heard it when I was watching season two of the umbrella academy on Netflix and it was one of the fight scenes, so it was kind of memorable, and then I heard it being released as a single and I thought, Oh, I like that song, I'll play that. So this is the interrupters doing a cover of a song by somebody called Billy Eilish, actually the James Bond theme to I don't know not. I really don't pay any attention to pop music, and the song is called bad guy. Should now red my blood in no sleeping you're on your tippy toes. creepings. Think you're so cream my niece for you don't say thank you for please. I do. Won't when I'm wanting to my soul. So you're I'm the best Duh. I like it when you take control, even if you know that you don't own me. I'll let you play the world. I'll be your Animo to sing along with me, but she won't sing the song if she reads all. I see your due like you just can't get, just as I'm the best Du across the desert. Sand never starts. Taking a SIP from the...

...bus the six ALF. I never smoked spaces for the moon myself. I never space out of space. This is chloe from Scarlett, riot and you're listening to the weird ways rock show. Please try quick inside. She said...

...easy money. I thought it was a piece cake. WAS A bay Bo. She told me to the conversations to put the blue the woman's wake. Bat Crazy, just bat crazy, just crazy. She's Miss Patty's crazy. Say, I knew it, she say. She shouted the Blue Next Day night she got the woman crazy. Just stops it out, crazy, just bat crazy, shakes it out back crazy, just crazy. She said.

Crazy, crazy, does jagaddy crazy? Miss is it just me or do I seem a bit kind of hyper and a possibly a bit over chatty tonight? Yeah, want to do something. Getting a bit of verbal diarrhea, but all the show. So after the interrupters you had vulcan over, who. Well, put it this way, when you see on a album track listing a band with a song title called Super Duper Van, you've got a play. I'm yeah, so that's what I did. That was Vulcan over the Super Duper van, followed by south of Eden with the talk, rather good they are, and then old guys burnt out wreck, with paddy whack now up this week's spotlight. He's going to be Sean on a guy who has well, let's see, he's been somewhat unfairly maligned because he's not Bruce Dickinson. But put it this way, if you were given a choice between former iron maiden singers that weren't Bruce Dickinson. You definitely choose this guy over Paul Diano, wouldn't you? Without any sort of question? Because, for one thing, blaze Bailey, over the years, whether it be in Wolf's Spain or in his solo career, is produced some pretty damn good heavy metal and I've seen him live a couple of times and yeah, the guys good. The guy is very if I've never seen him give a batch at now I'm a fan of anthrax and last time I was at bloodstock anthrax were on the main stage. Wolf's bane will play in the Surfie ten and to be honest, I kind of split my time between the two because you know, fans of both bands. I didn't have you'd will Spain earlier in the day and felt a bit of loyalty and I got to be honest, I enjoyed the Wolfsbane set more than I did the anthrax set, which tells you something done it. Currently, Mr Bailey's working with the members of a Manchester Band by the name of absolver, as he's backing band. So He's been working with people like Chris and Luke Appleton. Look Appleton, as you may well know, it's also the best player in I stuff, and you know he's produced over the years, as I said, some good heavy metal. So let's play some of it, shall we give give blaze Bailey a bit of the respect that he's due, and we'll start off with the man who would not die. I true, you never get close to the flame. Because...

...of flame, the better to not thing. Okay, that there were to win a third bet. They don't scared, you believe, not to get into it's the latest. Try to take a risk of a time. Try.

Hello, I'm blazed Biley. You are with the weird ways rock show. Don't freak out, because you're already freaked out. The convention with imagining that there is something more shall break that the speed of light is that concern. That can change them. So can you? was nothing, you sh...

...next said I was nothing, but that is I got out the father, that is, the business revolution side. So that was this week's spotlight featuring former iron maiden singer and also front man of Wolfsbane, Blaze Bailey. The three songs you heard were the man who would not die, the brave and the dark side of black. So yeah, I believe he's working on a new album at the moment, so keeping here out for him because he's probably going to surprise you. But after that I'm sort of in that sort of traditional kind of heavy metal mode, so I'll of power metal. Will start off with a French band by the name of nightmare. Lights on your ways and the WAMBER, the young time and the ground. I the same day.

I need to to find the remedy. You mean everything, it's you say. Then awakes. Hello, I'm grim from powergrest. I'm you're listening to the weird rays lass a night bass life paralyzed Tra the moment. I will open my eyes. So it cost the far shadow shadow diggers sends upon my abhorrence of Ben Conceptions. Must Save me, St my joy and see...

...away, ladies, out of here. Joy Image. Yes, it for by. Might Open Your eyes. Turn the morning sunny shining. They, like me, fly window. I can see that slow we enough to trapped inside, one will see the consequence the following nightmare. You heard reasons behind...

...with binary stars and vanity, vanity, vanity with grace or damned. Do like about a power melt? I support but if you are interested in helping me make this show better. ...away and plays out here images for Stop Your Eyes Deception. Right. You know what's quite weird? I do actually could get a bit nervous before I start recording these things. I know it's strange that there's there's only me in the room and I'm recording this in front of my own computer and I've really got no reason to because I can edit it all and make me sound like, make myself sound exactly how I want to sound. But still I get nervous and when I get nervous to start procrastinating and putting things off, and that's part of the reason why there's a tendency to have quite big gaps between shows, because I just can't do it because, you know, the anxiety gets to me and Blimey, it's it's really weird and it you know it's that. It's strange. It's one of the weird things about mental health problems and it's just pretty much unexplainable. But you know, talking about these things get them out there and if we could normalize these things a bit, it might actually help. May might help me, it might help other people. Talking about that inner in a readibly smooth segue. If you check out the website at weird, where's our Scom, you will notice that there is a new player on the front page, underneath the potomatic one and underneath the primordial radio advert there is a new player on there for a podcast called grabber cupper, which is present, presented, present get presented, get me teeth back in, presented by Catwright, who is a mental health blogger and she's a genuinely decent sort of person and you know, add some chats with her online and yeah, she's all right, and yeah, she's one of us, she's a mettelied and yeah, I thought since she's doing good stuff on that, I would try and give a bit of a boost. So we're yeah, check out cat sure she's got some merche. Got Some good guests on there as well, so check them out. What you've just been checking out, he says, try to get his DJ credentials back in place. Were...
